1.Nutritional deficiencies are common after bariatric surgery and patients should be monitored for these.

2.Vitamin D, Iron, B 12 and calcium are the most common deficiencies and can occur in upto 50% of patients, depending on type of bariatric surgery.

3.Vitamin and trace element levels should be monitored and supplemented appropriately in these patients.
